The Crossroads League Player of the Week Award winners have been released for the week of February 25, 2013. Player of the Week winners are recognized for their outstanding contributions and performances in recent competitions. The League is proud to recognize this week's winners of the Crossroads League Player of the Week. Please join us in recognizing these student-athletes on their recent success!


The final edition of Player of the Week honors for men's and women's basketball has been handed out for the 2012-13 season.

 With the women's tournament championship scheduled for Monday evening, 7:00pm at Indiana Wesleyan, Paige Smith will lead the Wildcats into championship play as the women's Basketball Player of the Week. Smith, a senior forward at Indiana Wesleyan, was an invaluable part of the Wildcat offense in the opening rounds of tournament play. Tallying 44 points and 15 rebounds in games against Mount Vernon and Huntington Smith helped propel the Wildcats into this year's women's basketball tournament championship game.

Casey Coons, senior guard for Taylor University, has been honored as this week's Player of the Week for men's basketball after his fantastic shooting helped the #5 seeded Trojans fight their way into this year's tournament championship. Coons' 3 point accuracy was excellent in the two opening round games, connecting on 10-13 from 3 to help the Trojans upset #4 Spring Arbor, and #8 Huntington. Coons is now tied for career 3 pointers made in Trojan basketball program history.
