Hartford City, IN—The 2014 Crossroads League Women's Basketball Tournament pairings have been released by the League office. The tournament will begin Tuesday, February 25th. The tournament is single elimination and all games will be hosted by the higher seeded teams. The tournament champion will receive an automatic bid to the NAIA Division II National Tournament in Sioux City, Iowa.

The Crossroads League routinely had three teams ranked in the NAIA Top 25 poll the entire season. 

Saint Francis (30-0) won the regular season title and will be the #1 seed in the tournament. Saint Francis went 18-0 in League play and also enters the tournament as the No. 1-ranked team in the entire country.

Huntington and Indiana Wesleyan tied in League play with a record of 14-4. They split 1-1 head-to-head in the first tiebreaker. The second tiebreaker took their record against league opponents starting at the top to break the tie. HU and IWU were both 0-2 against Saint Francis. Against Grace HU was 2-0 while IWU was 1-1. Therefore, Huntington (22-7) has earned the #2 seed and Indiana Wesleyan (24-6) will be the #3 seed.

Grace (16-14) has earned the #4 seed with a League record of 12-6 while Marian (15-15) will be the #5 seed with a League record of 8-10.


The #6 and #7 seeds came down to an extremely tight 4th tiebreaker between Taylor and Bethel. Taylor and Bethel finished League play tied at 7-11. The first tiebreaker came down to head-to-head in which they split 1-1. The second tiebreaker was record against league opponents from the top down. Taylor and Bethel were both 0-2 against Saint Francis, IWU, Huntington, and Grace, 1-1 vs Marian, 2-0 vs Spring Arbor, 1-1 vs MVNU, and 2-0 vs Goshen. The third tiebreaker is wins on the road in League play. Both Taylor and Bethel each had four wins on the road in League play. The fourth tiebreaker is the Massey Rating which had Taylor at 114 and Bethel at 115 through this past Saturday's contests. Therefore, by the fourth tiebreaker, Taylor (12-18) has earned the #6 seed and Bethel (12-18) has earned the #7 seed.

Spring Arbor (11-18) has earned the #8 seed in the tournament with a League record of 5-13.
