Crossroads League Player of the Week Page

INDIANAPOLIS – The Crossroads League announced its athletes of the week on Monday, recognizing the top student-athletes from the week of March 13 through March 19. In order to be considered for the award, a student-athlete must be nominated by their institution's Sports Information Director.

 

Baseball Pitcher of the Week
Colin Eggleson, Taylor

Eggleson allowed only two hits and fanned five batters over five brisk innings of work without allowing an earned run during Taylor's 5-1 victory against Lourdes. The senior lefty earned the win in his first start on the bump for the Trojans.

 

Baseball Player of the Week
Clinton Stroble, Goshen

Stroble led Goshen to a three-game sweep of Saint Francis by going seven-for-10 at the plate with three doubles and seven runs batted in during the series. Stroble and the Leafs sit alone in first place in the league standings and have won 11-straight contests.

 

Softball Pitcher of the Week
Grace Lumpkin, Marian

Lumpkin opened league play with wins over Taylor and Huntington in the circle for No. 7 Marian. Lumpkin tossed a combined 13 shutout frames in the two outings, issuing only one walk and just 12 hits for a 0.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP on the week.

 

Softball Player of the Week
Logan Personett, Marian

Personett ignited the No. 7 Marian lineup with a .571 average during a pair of league sweeps over Taylor and Huntington. Personett scored three times, drove in one run and stole two bases without getting caught.

 

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Nathan Bogle, Marian

Bogle helped Marian score a 6-3 win over IU-Southeast with victories at No. 2 singles and No. 1 doubles during the match.

 

Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Rachel Bottorff, Indiana Wesleyan

Bottorff highlighted a spectacular week for No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan, going a combined 6-0 at No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles in IWU's wins against No. 5 Cardinal Stritch, No. 17 Olivet Nazarene and NCAA Division III No. 30 DePauw. Bottorff earned a signature win over ONU's Priscila Nunez, who finished third at ITA Nationals last season.

 

Men's Golf Player of the Week
Cory Cahalan, Marian

Cahalan finished fourth-of-38 at the six-team Heritage Hills Collegiate, shooting a 143 over the two rounds to help Marian end in third as a team.

 

Women's Golf Player of the Week
Alexa West, Marian
(View Nomination)
West ended sixth-of-39 golfers at the seven-team Heritage Hills Collegiate, carding a 36-hole total of 156 to lead the Marian at the event.
