MU Makes Cut at NAIA Championships, Carries Second Place on Team Leaderboard

Ypsilanti, Mich. - The Marian women's golf team continued their dominant play at Eagle Crest Golf Course on Wednesday afternoon in the second round of the NAIA National Championship, dropping their team score by five strokes as they remain in second place at the NAIA National Championship. Emma Weiler fired another brilliant round, staying in the top three overall on the individual leader board. 

Marian attacked the course on Wednesday, shooting a 296 total score on the day. Two Knights finished even par, with the team scoring a plus-eight for the 72 scored holes on the day. The two-day total for Marian is 597, 12 strokes back of the team leader British Columbia, who has a 585 after two rounds. The Knights hold a three-stroke edge over Keiser, who ended the day with a 600 total score through 36 holes.

Emma Weiler continues to lead Marian, shooting an even 72 on the day to bring her championship total to 143. Weiler went two-over on her first nine holes, but shot three birdies on the back nine to end the day even, ending the round in third on the individual leader board.. Jordan Adam also made par on Wednesday, shooting one-under on the first nine holes before ending the back one-over. Adam sits with a 150 total score after two rounds, sitting 22nd overall. 

MacKendzie Dresbaugh shot a 75 on Wednesday, bringing her total to 149 after two rounds. Dresbaugh sits 18th overall after 36 holes. Keara Eder recorded the final score in Marian's team total on Wednesday, shooting a 77 to bring her week total ot 153. Eder holds 40th overall individually. Maria Kennard finished off Marian's efforts, firing an 80 in the second round to bring her total to 154. Kennard ended Wednesday's play in 45th individuall.

The Knights will look to move back up the leader board on Thursday when they take the course for round three. Marian tees off at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, with Maria Kennard leading off. British Columbia and Keiser will join the Knights in groupings on Thursday.
