Crossroads League Hosts First-Annual Jesus Won Day
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League's 10 member institutions came together on February 14 to host the first-annual Jesus Won Day, with all 20 men's and women's basketball programs sharing in a display of unity, faith and fellowship to proclaim how Jesus had won in their lives.
The initiative was led by the Crossroads League Association of Student-Athletes, with the goal of showcasing the transformative power of faith in their athletic journeys and throughout their everyday lives.
Over 2,000 shirts were distributed across the five host campus sites for the event, demonstrating a league-wide commitment to proclaim hope, purpose and victory through Christ. The Jesus Won shirts were worn during pregame and postgame events by student-athletes and coaches, as well as throughout the day by fans.
"Jesus Won Day was never about minimizing the importance of competition," said Crossroads League ASA Chair and Spring Arbor volleyball student-athlete, Julia Mitchell. "It was about putting competition in its proper place. Wins and losses matter, but they do not define us. Our ultimate victory has already been secured."
Throughout the day, athletes shared their personal testimonies, gathered in prayer and stood side by side, unified in their faith to show that rivalries pause when purpose unites. For the Crossroads League, Jesus Won Day was a reminder that while games end, faith endures and that means more than any scoreboard.
The Crossroads League has long been committed to developing champions of character alongside champions in sport. The Jesus Won Day initiative embodies that mission in action, reminding everyone involved that athletics serves as a platform for something deeper, growing in faith, leadership, integrity and community impact.
