RV Taylor Takes Fifth Team Title of Fall Season
SHEBOYGAN, Wisc. – Taylor closed out its perfect fall season with a fifth team title in five tournaments, this time rolling to the Whistling Straits Classic championship by 13 strokes over 36 holes of action on Monday and Tuesday.
TU (41-0) battled the challenging course over Monday's opening round to log a score of 312, finishing the day just two shots up on Wisconsin-Parkside. The Trojans pulled away over Tuesday's final round however, turning in the only sub-300 tally of the event with a 296 to come home at 608 and 13 strokes up on UW-Parkside for the title.
Davis Formsma and Tanner Conklin just missed the individual title, with Formsma shooting 75 in each round finish at six-over par for the event and one shot off pace of the medalist. Conklin carded rounds of 76 and 73 to end one stroke back of Formsma and in third.
Kyle Kasitz gave Taylor a trio of competitors inside the top-five, tying for fifth on the individual leaderboard with a total of 153, after shooting rounds of 79 and 74.
Taylor closed its fall season with five team championships, while shooting sub-300 in eight-of-11 rounds and only scoring above 300 in one round.
