MVNU Gets Upset Win at No. 20 Grace College
WINONA LAKE, Ind. – The Mount Vernon Nazarene University men's soccer team (7-6-3, 2-5-1 CL) traveled to Grace College (11-4-2, 5-3 CL) on Saturday, October 25, for a key conference showdown.
The game got off to an exciting start as Grace netted the opening goal at the 24:58 mark, giving the Lancers an early 1-0 lead. The momentum shifted before the first half came to a close, when Chucho Salgado scored his fifth goal of the season, leveling the score at 1-1 and sending both teams into the break tied.
Freshman Baba Sarr put the Cougars ahead in the second half, scoring to make it 2-1. Grace answered just three minutes later, tying the game at 2-2. With 21 minutes remaining, the Lancers regained the lead over MVNU with a header. Miguel Bello quickly responded, netting a goal at 16:38 to equalize the score at 3-3. With under 10 minutes left, Kevin Ngula connected with Bello for the decisive goal, giving the Cougars a thrilling 4-3 victory.
Grace outshot the Cougars 19-13, but Brayden Pierson came up big with five crucial saves, helping MVNU pull off the upset over the Lancers.

MVNU will be traveling to Huntington University on Wednesday, October 29. Kickoff in Huntington, Indiana is set for 7:00 p.m.
