Crossroads League Set to Add Men’s Volleyball as 21st Sport
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League formally announced its plan on Tuesday to add men's volleyball to its list of sponsored sports, moving the number of sports offered within the league to 21. It will be the first sport to be added to the league since the addition of men's and women's bowling in the 2021-2022 year.
A total of six schools from the Crossroads League will offer men's volleyball as a varsity sport, with Bethel, Goshen, Huntington, Indiana Wesleyan, Mount Vernon Nazarene and Spring Arbor all set to compete for the first-ever CL men's volleyball title in the spring of 2027.
The league champion will receive an automatic bid into the 2027 NAIA National Tournament.
In addition to announcing the start of men's volleyball for the spring of 2027, Crossroads League Commissioner, Larry DeSimpelare, announced that Kyp Harasymowycz would be the league's Supervisor of Officials for men's and women's volleyball moving forward.
"Kyp's experience at the national level and his commitment to officiating excellence will be a great asset to our league," said DeSimpelare. "We are excited to have him lead and support our volleyball officials."
Harasymowycz brings extensive collegiate officiating experience in both the NCAA and NAIA, including the assignment of being lead official for the 2025 NAIA Volleyball National Championship game. In his role with the CL, Harasymowycz will oversee the training, evaluation, and assignment of officials across the league.
"I am honored and humbled to be named the Supervisor Of Officials for the Crossroads League", stated Harasymowycz. "It gives me great pleasure and purpose to help lead this and the next generation of officials in one of the toughest NAIA women's volleyball leagues in the country. Thank you, Commissioner DeSimpelare, for allowing me to continue my passion in my favorite sport, and thank you to the coaches of the Crossroads League for this opportunity. I look forward to the challenge!"
